A boot loop occurs when a server powers on and begins to boot up, but never completes the process. It just keeps restarting. This can be caused by several underlying issues, from hardware malfunctions to configuration problems. Let's break it down. When troubleshooting a boot loop, always start with the basics. One step that I like to do is check for overheating. One of the most common culprits is overheating. Servers generate a lot of heat, and if the CPU or memory is overheating, the system might shut down to protect itself. Start by inspecting the service cooling system. Are the fans spinning? Are the air filters clogged with dust? Check the temperature readings in the BIOS or BMC. Check if the server gets that far before rebooting. Next, let's look at the power delivery.
