- If you have an existing email database, this is the time to use it. Your list is one of the most important tools for marketing your event. If you don't yet have a database, remember to use the digital registration data from this event to start your email list. Whether it's a virtual event or hybrid event, here are some best practices for email marketing. Start by sending out a general email letting people know about the event. Then segment your list into two different lists. The first are people who are local. Locals are much more likely to visit your event in person since they don't have extra travel costs. Encourage them to attend live by offering exclusive access to things such as goody bags, bonus sessions and giveaways. Give people extra encouragement to attend in person.
