Now let's talk about phase modulation. I'm gonna go ahead and turn my ring mod off for now, and I'm gonna switch this over to phase mod. Let's kill the modulation we have on the mod oscillator, and actually I'm just gonna go File, New Sound, and let's talk about phase modulation. Phase modulation modulates the wave's position and it's not the wave table position, as you can see position is below it. But phase is gonna sound a lot more like frequency modulation, or if you're familiar with some of the classic keyboards of the 80's and 90's, phase modulation or phase distortion synthesis, which was common with the Casio CZ-101 and also the Yamaha DX7 did frequency modulation, even though that was a bit of a different process from what this actually is. The results are sort of similar, and it's kind of a similar approach as ring modulation, as you'll see, with audio rate modulation, in that we're doing audio rate modulation, we're building up extra harmonics, these things that we called…
