- People get distracted, it happens. Even if your presentation is interesting, well-structured and dynamic, members of the audience may lose focus at some point. A ringing phone, another audience member coughing, something you say in your presentation that reminds an audience member of something else she needs to do. Any of these things can be enough to temporarily distract someone and lead them to miss an important detail in your presentation. These types of distractions are natural, and there's very little you can do about them. However, there are things you can do to make sure that these distractions don't cause audience members to miss important information.
