Duplicating objects
- [Instructor] If you ever need to duplicate or make copies of objects, Maya has a number of tools that can help you. Now, the easiest one to use is simply copy and paste. So, here, I have a couple of different trees. And if I select one tree, I can do edit, copy, or Control + C, and then edit, paste, or Control + V. Now, notice how that pastes into the scene in exactly the same place. Now, I have my move tool activated, and all I have to do is just move that tree off of the original. And now I have two copies. Now, an easier way to do that is to use the duplicate command. So we also have edit, duplicate. And the hot key for that is Control + D. So if I select this tree, and hit Control + D, it's already duplicated it and I can move it over to the side. I can select multiple trees and also hit Control + D and make copies of those.
