Setting up reference
- [Instructor] Many times when we model, we'll be modeling against a reference image. And in Maya, we can set this up fairly easily. Now in this scene, I already have some images set up. So if we hop over to the channel box and go down to layers, you'll see we have this layer called reference. So if I click here and make those layers visible, you'll see that we have a couple of image planes for that blimp that we were working with previously. So if I wanted to model a blimp, I can use this to get the shape exactly the way that I want. So let's take a look at how to set this up. So I'm going to go ahead and hit the letter V and hide that and let's go ahead and zoom in a little bit. So what I want to do is create a piece of geometry and then I'm going to map those images onto it. So let's take a look at the images we're using. So I'm here in Photoshop.
