- [Instructor] We probably all remember the mantra, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. And that used to be the approach that was often taken with computing resources. If you didn't need to apply a fix or an update or install a new driver, you didn't bother. If the system was working within what you'd consider to be reasonable parameters, you'd leave it alone. Only when it exhibited a problem would you attempt to apply a fix. And that was probably fair enough back in the day. However, these days, because of the security risks that we face and because of the interconnectedness of all of our devices, it's important that we keep things up to date. So the ethos has changed significantly. It's now, if you don't fix it, it's going to break. Windows 11 receives security updates as they're needed, and that can be on a daily basis, sometimes more.
