From the course: Nano Tips to Project Confidence and Executive Presence with Shadé Zahrai

Asking thoughtful questions

- A common mistake we see is that when presented with a problem, people dive straight into problem solving mode. Part of it is that they want to appear like they have all the answers, but a subtle yet powerful way to display your depth of thought and executive savvy is to acknowledge when you need more information. This helps you avoid jumping to conclusions and highlights your desire to make well-informed strategic decisions. When you are presented with a problem or a question and you either don't know the answer or don't have all the details, you can reply with something like, "It depends, I need more information." Then follow up with a clarifying question. Can you share additional specifics on the go-to-market plan? What's the revenue growth target again? Could you walk me through the steps you've taken so far? This response isn't evading the question. It showcases thoughtful engagement. It shows that you're considering all angles, not just the obvious ones, and you'll arrive at even better solutions.
