- [Instructor] In this video, let us talk about the twisted-pair cable configurations. ANSI/TIA-568 is the cabling system standard that we use today. In some references, you might see TIA/EIA-568 instead. But hey, they're actually referring to the same set of standards anyway. The name changed to ANSI/TIA-568 in 2011 after the Electronics Industries Alliance or EIA has ceased its operations. So what's with the T568 standard? Under the ANSI/TIA-568 is the definition of the pinout assignments or the arrangements between the connection and the wires in the cable. The standard defines two alternative pinouts: T568A and T568B. Now, what do you see? First, notice that the wires alternate between the stripe and the solid color wires. For T568A, it's stripe green, solid green, stripe orange. Then check out the break in the pattern.
