Track milestones and deadlines
- [Instructor] Let's set up a quick way to track milestones inside our task tracker. Finishing a task feels great, but hitting a milestone, the things that actually move the project forward, that's what really matters. Let's look at making those milestones easy to see. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to add a check box for milestones, create a timeline view, and then filter it to show only the big stuff. First, back at our project headquarters, click on Tasks. Now, let's add a new property to our database, and we want to choose checkbox. We want a name, Checkbox, field, Milestones. Now I have a column where I can select which one are major milestones. So let's go through these and just type a couple. We'll say this one, this one, and this one. Now let's build a view. Click the View dropdown menu. Select Timeline. Let's call this Project Timeline. So now we can make sure that the timeline is set to show tasks by due date, and now we have a visual layout of all of our tasks…
