Who to invite to a Work-Out or Kaizen event
- Who should be invited to participate in your Kaizen event? That's a very important question because the Kaizen event is only as good as the quality of inputs from participants. Do you want a bunch of volunteers that happen to have free time? Or do you want a list of participants handpicked for the specific value each of them will bring to your event? Just like they say in data analysis, garbage in, garbage out. So how should you go about deciding who to invite? Let me share with you my step by step approach for doing this. Starts with a list of desired outputs or deliverables. For every deliverable, determine what activity or activities must take place to produce that desired output. Organize each activity as a session on the Kaizen agenda. Provide sufficient time for that session so that participants can complete the activity to produce that deliverable. Then ask the who question. Who are the best people for the activities? Who is going to produce the desired output from that…
