- [Narrator] There are a few main metrics in TPM, the first of which is overall equipment effectiveness, also known as OEE. OEE is an indicator of the overall health of equipment and is the most commonly used measure of equipment performance. It measures the percentage of time a piece of equipment produces a quality product. It gives organizations a barometer of how well they use capital assets. In addition, it provides data on the impact of equipment-related losses. OEE is made up of the following parameters or percentages. Performance efficiency, which is the performance rate. Availability, which is the operating rate, and yield, which is the quality rate. OEE measures equipment performance relative to design performance for the net available time the machine is scheduled to run. OEE also takes into account the six big losses.
