Is PHP enough?
- [Instructor] Every few years, PHP is declared dead in favor of some newer, shinier language. A few years ago that was ReactJS for WordPress. Throughout this course, we explored all the ways PHP is still very much a crucial part of the WordPress development cycle, the most important part even. But is knowing just PHP enough? No. The truth is it never was. Being a WordPress developer means knowing all of the web technologies, HTML CSS, maybe even a little JavaScript. Perhaps the more accurate question is, are there even more languages you need to add to your skillset in order to be a successful WordPress developer? Well, that really depends on your goals. If you want to create a suite of custom blocks, yes, you likely need to learn Node.js and ReactJS for that. Do you want to build beautiful themes or create a plugin that adds some nifty functionality? Then perhaps not. What you know and what you've learned about PHP here will likely be enough.
