(bright music) - [Instructor] This challenge is going to be part set up part challenge. So I'll be talking a bit more than in subsequent challenges just to make sure we're all working from the same data. Now we're going to use the sample data set that comes bundled with Power BI, but I would like you to make some changes to the data before we begin the course. During the course, we're going to build a report comparing the financials of two fake brands, h+ Sport and Binaryville. Landon Hotel and International Luxury Hotel Chain is considering diversifying its portfolio by buying one of these two companies. For this challenge, we're going to pretend that the sample Power BI data relates to h+ sport. So please open Power BI and I'm going to close this popup that offers me recent files. Now you see a different screen that says add data to your report. And on the right hand side there's try a sample dataset, and then load sample data. Now we have a window that says navigator in the top left and we see two sheets, financials and sheet one. Now I already checked and they contain exactly the same data, so check the financial sheet only and click load. Now that said, 700 loaded. And on the right hand side in the data pane, you can see that we now have a financials table, which I can expand and you can see all of the fields within that. Your challenge is to export this sample data into Excel, make a change to one of the fields, and then re-upload to Power BI. The change I want you to make is very specific. I want you to set manufacturing price equal to COGS divided by units sold. So you'd be doing that with a formula in Excel. Then I want you to re-upload to Power BI, replacing this financials data on the right hand side, and you can rename the table to h+ plus for our first fake company. So at the end of the challenge, you should be able to see instead of the word financials on the right hand side, you should see h+. And when you expand the data, it will look almost identical, but behind the scenes, the manufacturing price formula will be different. This challenge can be done in less than five minutes, but if you're unfamiliar with Power BI, it might take you longer simply exporting and importing the data. Good luck!
