- [Instructor] To help us reign in a client's expectations, we need to lean into formalizing the organization's data requirements documentation. Data requirements aren't discussed as often. They tend to be assumed or gathered over time, but it's as important as business requirements and software requirements documentations. Both business operations and software development become easier to map out and manage when there's a solid data plan. For most of you, you'll join an organization with an existing database management system. Your intention then is to find, review, and understand the existing data requirements documentation and cross your fingers that the documentation closely reflects what's happening in practice. For everyone else, you'll likely be at a startup or smaller organization that's figuring out data requirements on the fly.
