Introducing AI agents in your organization

- So your team's next coworker is an AI agent. While that might sound farfetched, it's actually becoming real. AI agents are the next evolution in software that's going to help your teams automate more and more tasks in your organization. There are three primary benefits AI agents will bring to your business. Take over routine tasks that include some uncertainty. This frees up your team members to focus on more urgent and important tasks. Quickly process vast amounts of information and propose the next best action. This allows your team to review proposals and implement them quickly. Personalize information to your customer or user. This creates a more personal connection with your target audience. Think of an agent as your personal assistant. You can talk to them using your voice or have a conversation, like with a chatbot. Agents will be part of an application you use. For example, a customer service team member can click a button to summarize a customer's recent interactions and case history. And agents can also communicate with other agents to get the job done, like a customer service agent and a supervisor agent that provides feedback to the first one. Just like a human assistant, you delegate tasks to an agent that they complete for you. Tasks agents can do will be things like research customer information, compile a report, or book your next business trip. But using software to automate tasks in a business isn't particularly new. So far, software can only automate simple, individual tasks based on step-by-step instructions. But the real world is more complex than that, especially as traditional software isn't very flexible in adapting to new situations. Fast forward, and AI agents can take over more complex tasks on your behalf. Instead of giving an agent step-by-step instructions for a task, you just give it a goal. The agent then determines how to best achieve it. And just like a human assistant, they will ask you for additional input if needed. They can also use other specialized agents to provide expert advice on a task that makes AI agents a really powerful new technology. Let's walk through how they can help you work a business trip in the future. Instead of searching for flights, hotels, and transportation, you tell the agent the details of your trip: start and destination, timeframe, duration, and so on. The agent then contacts the airline's website to look up available flights. It has information about your company's travel policy and takes it into account. That way, it stays within policy and you will remain compliant. Based on pre-negotiated rates with hotel chains, the agent selects the ones with vacancies. It'll do the same for booking your rental car. With all the information together, the agents sends you a proposal that you can adjust or approve. But let's take it a step further. You want to book a meeting for your global team to come together. There are different people, locations, policies and preferences to consider. And what used to take hours will take an agent just a few minutes while being compliant. There's just one way agents will help you and your team scale. With this information, you're now prepared to explore further how AI agents will change business.
