Solution: Ways to deliver effective financial presentations
(lively upbeat music) - [Instructor] So, what did you come up with? Here are some of my observations. First, there was a lack of insights. While your colleague made a good effort to show what's changed within the company over time, and perhaps what we can expect going forward, it seems like he focused more on the observations than on insights or recommendations. That is, he mostly just shared what he saw versus what it meant. If we're going to present, we'd better make this presentation insightful and worth people's time by elaborating on the key statements being made. The audience needs to be able to know the what, the why, the how, and the what's next of the presentation. Second, a lack of visuals. Business storytelling doesn't usually mean that we tell the story just in words, pictures, and visuals often communicate observations, financial performance, trends, and anomalies far more effectively than words can. So, rather than take up all of this real estate on a page with text…
