The role of the RSS feed
- You've heard me mentioned it already, RSS Real Simple Syndication. This is the technology that drives a podcast, RSS allows you to describe things like the content of a show and the audio or video file that needs to be referenced. With RSS Real Simple Syndication provides the ability to subscribe using an XML feed. XML stands for Extensible Markup Language and that's about as technical as you need to get. In fact, if you never remember that again, you'll be okay because most of the podcasting services handle all of this in the background. But from time to time, you may find yourself having trouble with the podcast, particularly as your podcast grows and if you start to get too many episodes, it's possible that your podcast feed can become too long or too intense that certain podcasting software has problems.
