Establishing shared coordinates

- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to establish a shared coordinate system. Now, what exactly do I mean by a shared coordinate system? Well, it's a concept that we use when we have linked models, and what we want to do is take the independent coordinate systems of each of the individual models and consolidate them together into a single shared coordinate system. So each model has its own coordinate system by default, its own origin, its own position of the world, and these are usually independent of other models. But once you start linking models together, you typically want those coordinate systems to be consolidated and coordinated with one another so that you can have an easier time in linking the models together. So I've got an example of a file here where we've got three different files. Now, the file that I'm in is the basic building geometry here. You can see the walls and the roof and so forth.
