Linking AutoCAD DWG files

- [Speaker] In this video, we're going to talk about bringing in CAD files into our Revit project. Now, frequently, you'll be working with outside participants who are using other software, and that software might be AutoCAD or some other software and Revit supports bringing different file formats into the Revit environment. We're going to do that on the insert tab and we're going to be focused on an AutoCAD DWG for this example. But several formats are supported. Now you can use the import option, which would embed the file into the Revit project, and generally, that's considered not to be the best practice. In general, link CAD is the more preferable way to do it in most instances. So that's what I'm going to be demonstrating here, and I'll click that button to begin the process. Now let's start with what file formats are supported. If you open up this dropdown here, you're going to see that several different file formats are supported.
