- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to begin laying out reference planes for our pool table family. Now reference planes allow you to define the overall shape and size of the elements in the family editor, they serve as guidelines if you want to think of them that way. Now I've opened up the saved version of the exercise file. And you can see here that across the top it's got the four tile views as we talked about in the previous video. So I'm going to type w + t to tile those windows and then z + a zoom them all to fit. Next, I'm going to click on the Ref Level floor plan here, and I want to begin creating some reference planes. So on the Create tab, on the Datum panel, there's a Reference Plane button right here. Keyboard shortcut is r + p. Now make sure you're choosing Reference Plane, not Reference Line, they're not the same thing. Now I'm going to start here just above the horizontal reference plane, but I'm going to go in just a touch and then click and draw it so that…
