What you should know before watching this course
- [Instructor] So what should you know before you take this course? Well, this course is using the latest versions of the Autodesk software. So you'll notice we've still got the Introduction.dwg file open there in the title bar at the top of the screen. We're using AutoCAD 2019, which is the latest version of AutoCAD. So just be aware that all of the dwg files, the exercise files that you can download from the library are saved back to AutoCAD 2013 dwg file format. So any version of AutoCAD from 2013 upwards can read those dwg files. Now that's great with AutoCAD, but what about Revit? Well Revit's a very, very different fish in the same pond. I'm just gonna jump across to Revit now. There we go, like so. And you'll there's Revit 2019 with the Revit project type in that we're gonna be using for this particular course. Now Revit always saves to the latest version. So if I'm using Revit 2019, which I am in this course, it means that all of the Revit projects are also Revit 2019 projects. You can not save back to an older version. So for example, Revit 2018 will not be able to read the Revit project files for this particular course because we're using the latest version of Revit, Revit 2019. Just be aware of that when you're taking this course. You will need the latest version of Revit.
