- [Instructor] Now let's talk about running reports in the background. When and why would we want to do this? First, running in the background doesn't disrupt your session, and you can continue to work. Big reports can take many minutes and can disrupt your workflow. The solution is to run a report in the background. Let's try it now. We'll enter transaction code VA05. This brings us to our list of sales orders report. Normally, we would enter our selection criteria and press execute. Because we want to execute in the background, we'll click program, execute in background. This brings up our background print parameters pop-up screen. We want an electronic copy, so we'll print to PDF. In our print time field, we could set this report to run for a later date. We want it to run immediately, so we'll leave this as is. Now we'll click continue. This brings up our start time screen. Again, we could reset the start time for…
