- [Instructor] Having already seen nine out of the 14 V-Ray materials available to us in version three, let's conclude our overview of the materials here by taking a look at the basics of the remaining five options, starting first of all with the multi material, which is a little bit unique in that whilst it can be used in a number of inventive ways, its most basic or designed use is in connection with the creation of V-Ray proxies in a scene. If we were to take something like a tree object for instance so something that is likely to have two or more materials applied to it, in this instance, leaf and bark textures for instance, and then turn that geometry into a V-Ray proxy, at creation time, V-Ray would automatically create a multi material for the proxy object with each material found on the original geometry being applied to the proxy according the IDs that will have been assigned to it.
