Dynamic systems development method (DSDM)

- [Instructor] DSDM stands for Dynamic System Development Method. It was developed in 1994. This was the era where organizations were slowly going away from the waterfall approach and construction industry liked formal processes. When DSDM was introduced, a new approach called RAD, or Rapid Application Development, was becoming the norm. It was fairly easy to build mock up screens, get quick customer feedback and build system features very quickly. While this approach was very agile, there was also a growing concern among organizations that rapid application development needed some structure or formal processes to maintain good software quality. So a group of organizations built a framework for project delivery and project management called Dynamic System Development Method, or DSDM. The framework had some fairly tight set of rules and was designed to be compatible with ISO 9000 and PRINCE2, a project management framework very popular mostly in Europe.
