- Culture is the way organizational members think, act, and understand the world around them. All of the terms we hear these days, employee experience, engagement, employer branding, diversity, equity, and inclusion, these are all under the umbrella of culture. Culture exists whether you focus on it or not. So why not focus on it? Doing so will reduce turnover, increase production, and contribute to meeting organizational strategies. The place to start is with your vision, mission, and values. Is your vision and mission communicated to your workforce? Do they know and live the core values? You might be wondering how that ties into organizational strategy. If one of your company's strategic goals is to increase market share, then you can tie diversity, equity, and inclusion to that as DEI can help you achieve that goal.
