That's where the internet of things, or IoT, comes in. IoT refers to a network of physical devices that are equipped with sensors and have connectivity that allows them to collect and exchange data. In the supply chain, that means trucks, containers, pallets, machines, and even individual products can transmit real-time information about their status and location. One of the most powerful applications of IoT is real-time tracking. Connected devices can monitor the movement of goods across the supply chain from factory to warehouse to final delivery.
