- Can you imagine what it would be like if we tried to run a marathon before we learned to crawl and then walk? Of course not. A well run SNOP process has many benefits, but you have to crawl before you walk. It's great to know what your ideal state and end goals are, but you also have to know where you're starting so you can identify the gaps and come up with an action plan. Let's talk through some frameworks and tools you can use to assess implementation readiness and SNOP maturity at your organization so that you know where to start with your improvement or implementation plan. There are three widely accepted frameworks to assess SNOP maturity, created by Gartner, Oliver Wight and The Hackett Group. The Gartner Framework has five maturity levels, starting with siloed management at the lowest level, progressing through to ecosystem orchestration.
