Analysis case

- [Instructor] A case brings together the concepts we have learned in structural, requirement, and behavioral modeling. It defines the steps or calculations required to produce a desired result relative to a subject that is the entity on which the requirement is being specified. Requirements are elaborated in the form of three types of cases: analysis case, verification case, and use case. An analysis case defines actions necessary to analyze a subject. For example, if we want to analyze temperature accuracy of oven thermostat, then we model an analysis case. The analysis case will take certain inputs and give an estimated temperature offset or deviation of the oven. A verification case verifies whether a subject satisfies certain requirements. For example, the output from the temperature accuracy test can be used to evaluate whether the subject, that is the oven meets a certain design specification.
