- Just as engineers often fear the behavioral interviews and overthink them, they often underthink the technical interviews, but here's the thing, though. These technical interviews are as much about communication and other soft skills as they're about your problem solving skills. Here are some key tips on how to ace this interview. At the start, focus on the why. What is the problem you're trying to solve? How does it fit into the overall business strategy? How do you measure success? What key features will help make this solution successful? These questions collectively represent a scoping negotiation with your interviewer which will guide your solutioning.
