Defining composition
- [Narrator] In its basic definition, composition is the organization of various elements of art and design. You've seen this time and time again in recognizable photographs and paintings. Artists mindfully choose what elements to include and how to arrange those elements in the medium they're working with, like on a canvas, for instance. With photography, the viewfinder is the canvas. But instead of it being blank or adding things, it's more about arranging what's already there in front of you in a more visually compelling way. Doing so just means learning some of the principles and rules that help make your arrangements feel artful and expressive.
