How to measure employee well-being

- The 2023 Gen Z and Millennial Survey by Deloitte finds nearly half of Gen Z, 46%, and 4 in 10 Millennials, 39%, say they feel stressed or anxious at work all or most of the time. With burnout on the rise, many organizations have started to provide additional benefits to improve employee well-being. There is also an increased interest in measuringthe well-being of employees. When it comes to measuring employee well-being, there are two common approaches. The first is to use objective health outcomes like blood pressure or to use claims data, such as doctor's office visits. The second is to use subjective, self-reported internal survey questions about their well-being. Given privacy concerns and the availability of data, the first approach is generally off the table for most organizations.
