- Even if you're comfortable with conflict, initiating conversations can be difficult, but one thing that makes a conversation easier is to map out the conversation in advance. You can essentially work from a blueprint to create your conversation. A blueprint is a plan, it's flexible and can be altered to fit your needs. Think of building a house. You might decide to add or eliminate a room, but you still have a tool to guide you. Here's a simple blueprint that you can use and it goes something like this. I'd like to talk about, the reason why is. What I've noticed, I perceive. What are your thoughts? Or walk me through what's happening. What I need/want. Would you be willing to? Now remember this is a conversation. You'll need to pause and listen, expect some interruptions and maybe a few excuses, but this blueprint makes conversations easier because you know where you are and where you're going and it's…
