- The idea that you must ask the right questions to get the right answers is as old as it is widespread. In this movie, you will learn what to do when you don't know the right questions yet. Let's turn to Jodie Foster. In the fourth season of "True Detective," Foster placed Detective Danvers, who tirelessly encourages the colleagues to keep asking, and so must you. The only way to practice asking the right questions is to ask a lot of apparently wrong ones. First, don't try to follow a manual for asking good questions. Doing so only makes it harder for you to practice the curiosity and responsiveness required to get someone to open up. Second, trust your wrong questions to pave the way for the right ones. Detective Danvers constantly says, "We're just not asking the right questions yet," and then she adds, "but we will."
