According to a FastCompany article, your typical Gen Z employee has much higher expectations on their employer than they do on their parents. Their best friends, or their significant other. They expect their company to be a model citizen, advancing social justice and DEI. No pressure. Right? Furthermore, this desire for inclusivity extends to accommodations for neurodivergent disabilities and mental health. Companies definitely need to audit and invest further, and their current employee assistance programs. Where do you begin? Here are four ideas to get you started. Speak up as a manager and encourage diversity among interviewers in the hiring process. Representation also needs to be evident on your website and in all of your social media.
