Here are some memorable milestones from the lifetimes of Gen Z. In 2007, the iPhone and smartphones were introduced. In 2009, there was a boom in social media which took off in new directions when the like button was introduced. Then there was the Great Recession of 2008 2009, followed by massive debates over health care, gun control, and Lgbtq+ rights. Black Lives matter. The Covid 19 pandemic, escalating student debt, intensifying awareness and experiences around anxiety and mental health, climate change. Wow. Living through these events have had an impact on forming who they are and what they want out of life.
