The underlying process

- The one other part to design systems, which you won't find in any online examples because it's typically not part of the documentation, is the processes in place in the organization to support the design system. Every system has an underlying process that defines how it works, who's involved, what the expectations of different groups are, and so on. For instance, design systems almost always need some kind of governance. That means someone who decides what components get added to the design system and then someone or some group who reviews products that were built with the design system to make sure they use those components properly. And it's not like you're starting from scratch when you introduce a design system. There are already design and development processes in place.
