- If you need to create an environment inside of After Effects, there's actually a filter or an effect called environment that's quite useful. This works best if you have a spherical panorama or a piece of actual VR footage, but it will also work with regular still based panoramas like I showed you. Now, I've opened up a project here and in it I've got a camera map. This comes from VizPeople. This service makes a lot of camera maps available. These often get used in gaming environments or for reflections on 3D objects, but they're also used for all sorts of things like visual effects, video games, virtual sets, and more. This one happens to be a high dynamic range image, which gives us great flexibility if we need to adjust it.
