- I'd like to introduce the vocalist we'll be working With in the course. Miss Jade Hendrix. Jade is a Los Angeles based singer and songwriter, who grew up in the presence of some of history's great singers. She spent her youth watching her mother, Sharon Hendrix, who's a popular back-up singer for performers, Tom Jones, Natalie Cole and Barry Manilow. Jade's collected all that experience, and poured it into her Farewell to Emerald City EP. In this course we'll be working with Jade on the vocals for a song she wrote, called Over My head. When we talk about producing and recording truly amazing vocals with an artist like Jade, it's easy to get wrapped up immediately in the gear, equipment and the technical side of engineering. This is important for sure, and we'll get into all that, but I want to start our journey out by addressing the most important aspect of vocal production, the instrument itself. The human voice.
