Element 1: Start your LinkedIn posts with a strong hook

- If there's one part of your post you spend a little bit of extra time on, make it your opening line. Those first two lines of text, or if you're shooting a video as well, those first few seconds of video, are so, so critical to grabbing the attention of your audience and getting people to really engage with your content. I wanna show you a couple of examples of some great hooks in text form. You'll see them on your screen. (screen whooshes) Do you see how these immediately pull you in and set up the rest of the posts so you know what it's going to be about? These great opening lines often start with a couple of things, maybe an overarching question or a bold but honest statement or opinion that you have. You can also just do a short title-style caption or even a mini anecdote if it's relevant to the story you're telling. Now, let's look at how a great hook can show up in video format too. - Three fears every people leader need to be aware of when it comes to feedback. Number one, fear, shame, and embarrassment. - Wow, so short and to the point, right? But you know exactly what that video is going to be about. You really, really don't need gimmicks or click bait with your hooks. Just signal to your audience what value they're going to get if they keep watching the video or if they click See more on their screens.
