Using Group Policy to harden Windows 11
- [Instructor] Now, I'd like to look at a few more settings in Group Policy that can allow us to harden our Windows 11 PC. Again, back in Local Group Policy Editor, under Computer Configuration, I'll open up Windows Settings, then Security Settings, then Local Policies. And I'll select Security Options. And here we could see, I think there's close to 100 different options here. The first one I'm interested in is accounts, Guest account status. For general security reasons, I like the Guest account to be disabled. The next one, if we scroll down a little bit, is Audit: Shut down system immediately if unable to log security audits. I usually leave this disabled on a home PC, but on a business PC, a lot of companies want it enabled. That way, they know the computer will not be able to function if anyone stops or disables the security audits, or if the logs become full and no more information can be added to them.…
