EFS and drive encryption
- [Instructor] Many Sys Admins will have the challenge of encrypting files and folders for their users because of security reasons. And if I go to File Explorer, I can choose the encrypting file service. So if I go to this PC, C drive, I created a folder called shared data. If I double click on it, we can see a test file. And if I open it, you can see it says, this is a test. Now I want to use EFS, as it's known, so I can encrypt any data inside this folder. So I'll right click on the folder and I'll go to properties. Now, once I'm in properties I'm going to go to where it says advanced. And now I'm going to check the box that says encrypt contents to secure data. I'll click OK and click apply. And I want to apply it to the folder and sub folders and files. So here I'll click OK. Now, when I click on advanced, you can see I now have details.
