Overhauling HR Technology with AI. ➡️Pros: Removes the inefficiencies of repetitive processes, has the ability to analyze data quicker and easier ➡️Cons: Vulnerability for bias - it is only as smart as it is trained (by the users), removes the Human from Human Resources leaving a gap in empathy and understanding. How are you using AI in HR? What benefits and roadblocks have you encountered? https://lnkd.in/g6vU-R3W

Came across this piece on AI trends in HR that aligns with what many of us are grappling with. The article emphasizes finding "the best blend of AI and human interaction," which I find compelling given my experience growing an organization from 300 to 21K employees. AI brings tremendous efficiencies, but the moments that transform careers remain deeply human, including the coaching conversations and honest feedback delivered with care. What concerns me is how algorithmic bias can wear a different mask while claiming to reduce traditional biases. For leaders implementing AI in talent processes, the challenge lies in rigorous tool scrutiny while keeping focus on the individual behind each profile.

Well, it seems AI is trying to hire a new race—the race for bias! This article discusses how AI is transforming recruitment by automating candidate screening but also raising concerns about bias, adoption rates, candidate experience, and impending regulations. It highlights the double-edged sword of AI: making hiring faster and cheaper but potentially perpetuating unfairness if not carefully managed. The key points revolve around balancing AI's efficiency with ethical considerations, navigating evolving legal landscapes, and improving the candidate journey amidst these tech-driven changes. A product manager should see this as a reminder that technology isn’t enough without ethical guardrails—because in the end, user trust and fairness are the best metrics for success. Thanks to Lin Grensing-Pophal for the insightful piece and inspiring a fresh perspective on AI's role in product development. #AI #Hiring #Bias #Regulations #ProductManagement First published: March 2025

𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮? ⚡ AI tools can: - Cut candidate screening time by up to 50% - Analyze large volumes of applications quickly and fairly - Spot patterns in candidate data that humans might miss - Help reduce unconscious bias at the early stages of recruitment But here’s the important part: human recruiters are still at the center. It’s their expertise and intuition that ensure cultural fit, guide final hiring decisions, and build real, lasting connections with candidates. The future of hiring isn’t about AI vs. humans — it’s about combining both. AI handles the repetitive, data-heavy work, while people bring empathy, understanding, and strategic judgment. 💡 The result? Recruitment that’s faster, fairer, and smarter — giving organizations stronger teams and candidates a better experience. AI in HR & Recruiting: Are We Losing the Human Touch? While AI has made recruiting faster and more efficient, there are real downsides when it starts fully replacing human HR professionals and recruiters. One of the biggest concerns is the loss of the human touch. Hiring isn’t just about scanning résumés and matching keywords. It’s about understanding people, their motivations, their potential, and even the little intangibles that don’t always show up on paper. AI also struggles with bias in fairness. If the data it’s trained on already contains bias, then the system can unknowingly carry those same biases forward. That means qualified candidates might be unfairly filtered out just because the algorithm learned from flawed patterns. Another drawback is the lack of empathy and context. For example, someone might have a gap in their résumé because of illness, caregiving, or relocation. A human recruiter could understand and even appreciate the story behind it, but an AI system might simply reject the application without giving the person a chance. Lastly, there is the issue of trust and transparency. Candidates often feel more comfortable speaking with a person who can answer questions, give feedback, and reassure them. Being assessed by a machine can feel cold and impersonal, leaving applicants unsure of how decisions were made. In short, AI can be a great tool to support HR, but when it replaces humans entirely, we risk losing fairness, empathy, and the very human connection that makes the workplace more than just a transaction.

With the wrong boss, any job feels like it can be replaced with AI (just not successfully). Do y'all have FOBO too? "As AI tools continue to reshape work across industries, a new anxiety has entered the professional lexicon: FOBO—fear of becoming obsolete. While the term may sound buzzword-y, the concern is anything but abstract for today’s workforce." article here: https://lnkd.in/gwrA4PSa
