Greetings from COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan! The energy here is high and the conversations are inspiring. There’s much more to be done and the technologies are advancing rapidly. Organizations like S&P Global , Citi , International Monetary Fund , and Columbia University are advancing progress in meaningful sustainable finance solutions. Azerbaijani leadership is developing new, hydrogen-based ways to decarbonize industry and create new business growth by leveraging their existing land, distribution footprint, and workers. Much progress is underway with many opportunities for a global materials science company like 3M. Thanks to International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Greetings from COP 29. I'm here in Baku, Azerbaijan for my first time and I am delighted to be taking the opportunity to be meeting with customers, thought leaders and policymakers from all over the world. It's an incredible time with thousands of events going on. But many of you know that I often play this little game when there's so many events going on where I try to summarize the key themes in one or two words. So after my first full day, the ideas that are coming to my mind are hydrogen and sustainable finance. Azerbaijani leadership is leaning in on hydrogen. You see, they already have the infrastructure to work with oil and gas, and that same infrastructure, the same locations, the same workforce may be applied in the future for hydrogen. Really exciting, especially since 3M has so many material solutions we can provide in this space. I also said sustainable finance. More and more people are leaning in on sustainable finance I know I'm learning a lot about it and a key piece is that a key piece around sustainable finance that makes me feel better is that it's always changing, always evolving. So what you know now, you'll know more in the future. Me too. Whether it's the IMF, banks from around the world or thought leaders like Columbia University. Lots more coming.
