His scientific work focuses on understanding energy production mechanisms in galaxy nuclei, utilizing observations from space telescopes. He served as President of the Hellenic Astronomical Society and is a member of several international scientific committees, including the Senior Science Advisory Committee (SSAC) of the European Space Agency - ESA, the Scientific Council of the IRFU Institute (France), and the Evaluation and Accreditation Council of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education. 🏆 Awards In 2023, he was honored with the Public Service Award from the University of Crete.
