The essay failed to clarify which of the Trump administration’s reform demands were legitimate and which were self-serving. It felt somewhat vague to me.
It's a very tricky situation and easy to blame Fed at hindsight. Now if observers are blaming Fed for poor demand recovery even after price stability and want to get rid of inflation targeting then 6 months down the line (with new monetary policy frame work) you will again blame Fed for its inability to control prices and stimulate demand.
