⚡ AI workloads demand smarter infrastructure—and now, smarter developer tools. Both Google and Microsoft just dropped big updates: 1️⃣ Google’s Gemini CLI in Zed → AI that lives inside your editor, learning from docs, APIs, and live code. 2️⃣ Microsoft’s Visual Studio update → GPT-5 integration, semantic search, Git history context, and multi-model support from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic. This isn’t just about productivity—it’s about how data centers and AI backends are being leveraged directly in developer workflows. These copilots rely on powerful compute, fast data retrieval, and secure integration pipelines. The message is clear: the boundary between AI infrastructure and AI application development is disappearing. Data centers aren’t just serving requests—they’re co-building the future of software. How will this impact how enterprises provision AI workloads in 2026? 🏗️

Microsoft is making waves: VS Code’s auto-model pick now favors Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4 for paid GitHub Microsoft Copilot users, even after a $13B investment in OpenAI. - Claude Sonnet 4 beat GPT-5 consistently in code tests. Microsoft’s dev chief recommended Claude for Copilot before GPT-5 even launched. - Microsoft plans Claude for more: Excel automation, PowerPoint generation in M365 Copilot. Tests say Claude outperforms OpenAI there too. - Microsoft and OpenAI are reshaping their partnership; revenue sharing drops to 8-10% by 2030, freeing up more margin for MS. - MS is running a multi-model AI game using AWS to tap Anthropic, investing billions in monster-sized clusters for its own models. For devs and enterprises, this shift means smarter automation, new tools, and less vendor lock-in. The future is multi-model, and Microsoft is all-in on the best performer, not just the biggest deal.

The new Microsoft #VSCode August update has some fantastic features, and I'm excited about the focus on AI, security, and workflow improvements. One of the most interesting additions is Auto Model Selection, which automatically picks the best AI model for different chat tasks. Paid Copilot users will also see a new benefit with discounted requests. I've also been impressed by the new security measures, especially the requirement for explicit user approval before AI agents can modify sensitive files. This is a great step toward safer AI integration in our daily workflows. Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/e_WsjTVt The update also includes a new Language Model Chat Provider API, which is a huge win for flexibility and customization. It allows teams to integrate their own AI models into VS Code through extensions like the AI Toolkit for VS Code and Hugging Face. The new AGENTS.md files for multi-agent collaboration are also a great addition. Key takeaways from this release: ✨ Smarter AI: Auto Model Selection and new custom model integrations. 🔒 Enhanced Security: Explicit approval needed for AI file changes. 💻 Workflow Upgrades: Better terminal management and semantic workspace search. Hey, C# devs! Ever wished your AI agents could chat and collaborate seamlessly, regardless of their tech stack? Microsoft just dropped the A2A .NET SDK, and it's a game-changer! This new toolkit lets you build AI agents that speak the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol, enabling them to discover each other, negotiate communication formats, and exchange messages or tasks. Think structured interoperability, not ad-hoc integrations. This SDK complements Semantic Kernel's existing A2A support, offering faster iteration on protocol features. It brings cool capabilities like Agent Capability Discovery via Agent Cards, flexible communication (messages or async tasks), and real-time updates with Server-Sent Events (SSE). Plus, it integrates smoothly with ASP.NET Core, making it easy to expose your agents as web services. While it's still in preview, this SDK is a huge step towards more collaborative and intelligent AI systems in the .NET ecosystem. Time to get your agents talking!

Stop shipping solo agents. Build AI teams. Microsoft’s AutoGen 0.4 quietly unlocked something big: specialized agents that collaborate like a real team, negotiating, debating, and delivering faster than any single bot ever could. What’s exciting: True teamwork: agents combine strengths and challenge each other’s ideas for better outcomes. Async by design: they react to events, not rigid flows, like real teams under pressure. Python + .NET: plug into hybrid stacks without drama. Visual builder: drag, drop, ship, no heavy coding. Human-in-the-loop: step in at critical moments without breaking automation. Why it matters: This isn’t “can one agent do it all?”, it’s “which expert handles which part?” Result: 40–60% less dev time vs monolithic builds, with enterprise monitoring via OpenTelemetry. If a single agent keeps hitting limits, this is the missing piece. Comment TEAMWORK and I’ll send a starter pack: 5 pre-configured business agents you can customize. #AI #AutoGen #Microsoft #MultiAgent #Automation #Productivity #DevTools #MLOps #OpenSource

🚨 Dear Microsoft Power Platform Team: Please Don’t Forget the Fundamentals 🚨 As a long-time Power Platform consultant, I’m excited about the AI innovations being rolled out, but it’s frustrating to see basic, long-requested features still missing. One example: Power Fx in Dataverse formula columns still doesn’t support polymorphic lookups like the Customer field. This is a major blocker for real-world scenarios where we need to reference fields from either Account or Contact in a clean, declarative way. We’ve been asking for this for years. Instead, we’re forced to use clunky workarounds like: - Duplicate lookup fields - Power Automate flows to populate shadow fields Meanwhile, AI features are getting weekly updates. 👉 Please prioritize foundational improvements that make the platform more robust, maintainable, and developer-friendly. AI is great, but not at the cost of core functionality. Click like if you agree.

🚨 Microsoft just opened the floodgates! By open-sourcing the very tools that helped kickstart the AI coding boom, Microsoft has taken a bold step that could reshape the future of developer tooling. This move means: ✅ Greater accessibility for developers worldwide ✅ Faster innovation through community collaboration ✅ A huge push for the open-source ecosystem It’s not just a release, it’s an invitation to build, remix, and accelerate the next wave of AI-driven software. What do you think this means for the future of coding? #Microsoft #OpenSource #AI #DeveloperTools #Innovation

These updates can sometimes look like nerd notes (I had to look up what the differentiator is with NLU+), but the truth is; these enhancements should be the sparks that #Ignite our potential for taking simple ideas ("what I could just...", "it would be great if I could..."), and turning them into the assets that enable us to achieve our goals. For example; the first thing I thought of, reading about automatic data labeling through the new #Purview #Dataverse Connector? During KYC checks, or onboarding of new customers, the information collected would be automatically processed and classified appropriately, through a simple, rich, conversational experience. An omnichannel experience delivering accessibility to customers, integrity to administrators, and confidence to teams charged with delivering exceptional products & services. Have a read, then imagine what you could achieve if an #Agent: understood you better? Aligned data and #compliance? Met your customers where they are, in their language? And also provide a well governed and nurturing environment to bring ideas together constructively? It's more transparent, easier to understand, and closer to your grasp than you might imagine.
