Creating Leaders: The True Measure of Leadership

This is a very provocative statement. It presupposes that leaderships goal is to generate new leaders New leaders are a natural byproduct of of good leadership, this happens when people with leadership potential interact with "natural leaders" and follow the "lead" Leaders are born with these traits and leaders attract leaders like A-Players attract A-Players. Some of the traits of leadership can be thought but generally leaders are born and developed you cannot make a leader from someone who is not born with these traits. Sometimes the traits do not develop and that's how it is but if people with the traits are exposed to positive leadership they will naturally be drawn to that path. I know this seems provocative and in today's world seems that way, but in my experience working globally with teams and many hundreds of managers I have never seen a leader develop just because they had technical skills or because the boss wanted it, they have always emerged naturally. The trick is identifying them and cultivating them???
