In residential builds, two elements often receive less attention than they deserve: septic systems and drainage. When they are overlooked, the consequences are costly. At Lea & Braze Engineering, we’ve seen projects stall when septic placement is considered too late, or when drainage isn’t designed to handle slope and soil conditions. The solution is clear: ✔️Integrate septic and drainage design from the start. ✔️Use accurate survey data as the basis for planning. Rely on experienced engineers for long-term performance. Invisible infrastructure supports the visible success of a project. Getting it right from the beginning is essential. https://lnkd.in/gt5pdvht #leabraze #engineering #technology #design #landsurveying #septicservices

Some of the most important work on a project is the part you never see. Septic systems and drainage don’t draw attention when they are designed well, but they create significant problems when they aren’t. In my experience, the key lessons are simple: 1️⃣ Consider septic and drainage early in the design process. 2️⃣ Base every decision on reliable survey data. 3️⃣ Prioritize long-term function, not just immediate construction needs. It’s work that rarely makes the spotlight, but it’s what keeps homes and communities safe. Proud to contribute to that foundation at Lea & Braze. https://lnkd.in/eqJbsXhQ #leabraze #engineering #technology #design #landsurveying #septicservices

FINALLY! It’s great to see a professional body formally recognising and promoting the benefits of the HAZID process during the design and construction phase of a project (big or small!). Our close relationship with Safety Case Partnership Ltd has meant that we have been taking our clients with in occupation Higher-risk Buildings through detailed HAZID workshops for over 2 years and have been strongly advocating for their implementation into the design phase for new schemes. Designing buildings can be complex but the mantra here is simple: understand and evaluate your risks at the front end and it is easier to deal with them at the back end. Production of the Safety Case does not start in the run up to completion. It starts at feasibility stage. Great work from the authors and contributors for bringing this to the forefront. We have published a free guide aimed at improving the safety of buildings in collaboration with the Construction Products Association, Code for Construction Product Information, The Institution of Structural Engineers and RIBA . The publication, titled ‘Guide to Products Critical to Safe Construction’ provides designers, specifiers, and installers with the information they need to make informed decisions about construction products and includes examples and case studies to signpost industry best practice, such as the Code for Construction Product Information. Construction Leaders Civil Engineering Knowledge Series – Episode 3 Buildings by Height in Civil Engineering 🏙️ In civil engineering, buildings are often classified by their height and number of stories, which influences design, materials, and structural systems. 🏠 Low-Rise Buildings Typically 1–3 stories (houses, small apartments). 🏢 Mid-Rise Buildings 4–12 stories, requiring elevators and advanced services. 🏙️ High-Rise Buildings Above 12 stories, needing advanced structural systems, fire safety, and vertical transport. 🌐 Skyscrapers / Super Tall Buildings above 150 m (some exceed 500 m!) – iconic structures requiring specialized engineering for wind loads, seismic design, and safety. 👉 The taller the building, the more complex the engineering challenges. 💬 Which height category do you think is most future-ready for urban development? #CivilEngineering #ConstructionLeaders #BuildingDesign #KnowledgeSeries #StructuralEngineering

Since 1984, we’ve completed more than 27,000 projects across California. The number matters, but the approach matters more. Our work is guided by three principles: 1️⃣ Precision — Accuracy in surveying and engineering prevents costly errors and delays. 2️⃣ Integrity — The data we provide and the plans we prepare must be reliable for everyone who depends on them. 3️⃣ Respect — Every project affects the land and the communities that live on it. From topographic mapping and boundary surveys to civil design and construction support, each step is completed with the understanding that today’s work shapes tomorrow’s built environment. https://leabraze.com/ #leabraze #engineering #technology #design #landsurveying #septicservices

We are excited to share about a recent project involving an underground water tank. The design, expertly crafted by Sarathi Structural Consultants, is truly impressive. This tank boasts a substantial capacity of 1.5 lakh liters, which is quite remarkable. We were fascinated by the innovative RCC design that ensures its durability and longevity. We have learned a lot about the importance of a reliable water storage solution for various applications. Constructions like these are crucial for water management and conservation. We feel like this project will be a great help for future generations. It's a testament to the power of engineering and forward-thinking design. It is a great example of how we can build resilient infrastructure. #WaterTank #RCCDesign #StructuralEngineering #CivilEngineering #Sustainability #EngineeringMarvel
