what is cut off grade in Resource estimation? In resource estimation, the cut-off grade is a critical concept that helps mining companies determine the economic viability of a mining project. The cut-off grade represents the minimum quality or grade of material that must be present in a deposit for it to be economically feasible to extract and process. The importance of the cut-off grade in resource estimation can be understood through the following points: 1. Economic Viability: Determining the cut-off grade is crucial for assessing the economic feasibility of a mining project. By setting a cut-off grade, mining companies can focus on mining only the ore that meets or exceeds this grade. This helps ensure that the operation remains profitable and economically sustainable. 2. Efficient Resource Utilization: Setting a cut-off grade allows mining companies to optimize their resource utilization. By concentrating on extracting higher-grade ore, companies can maximize their output while minimizing wastage and costs associated with extracting lower-grade material. 3. Financial Planning: Establishing a cut-off grade is essential for financial planning and investment decision-making. It helps mining companies estimate the potential revenue and costs associated with the extraction and processing of mineral resources, enabling them to make informed financial projections and investment decisions. 4. Resource Estimation Accuracy: The cut-off grade plays a crucial role in resource estimation and classification. By considering the cut-off grade in resource modeling, companies can more accurately estimate the resource size, grade distribution, and overall value of the deposit. 5. Regulatory Compliance: In many jurisdictions, mining projects must meet certain economic criteria to obtain mining licenses and permits. By defining a cut-off grade, mining companies can demonstrate the economic viability of their projects to regulatory authorities and stakeholders. In summary, the cut-off grade is a fundamental parameter in resource estimation that guides mining companies in making strategic decisions, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring the economic viability and sustainability of mining operations.Barrick Mining Corporation AngloGold Ashanti Kinross Gold Corporation Newmont Corporation AusIMM GOLD FIELDS Yedidia Mgema MAusIMM Exploration Geologist consultant machine learning enthusiast Smart Mining Resources email;yedidiamgema@outlook.com contact;+255694238804 (WhatsApp) 05.09.2025

Astute Metals NL (ASX: ASE) has commenced Reverse Circulation drilling at its Needles Gold-Silver Project in Nevada, USA. ⛰️ A series of six high-priority vein-style gold-silver targets will be tested as part of the eight-hole campaign. ⚒️ The Company has engaged an experienced international drill contractor, Major Drilling Group International Inc., to undertake the drilling program. ⛏️ This Needles Project drill campaign is expected to complete within two weeks, after which the rig will be mobilised to the Red Mountain Lithium Project to commence drilling there. "The start of drilling at Needles marks the beginning of a very active phase of activity for the Company, coinciding with our imminent name change. The current drill program will test six initial high-priority prospects identified from a recent exploration review. This work has uncovered what we believe to be highly prospective discovery opportunities in gold in a richly endowed historical mining area at a very favourable time for the gold sector. "Each of the targets has demonstrated either high-grade historical gold-silver assays or compelling anomalism for pathfinder elements, with the potential to deliver new discoveries for Astute in one of the world’s premier gold and silver mining districts. “Once the drilling at Needles wraps up, the rig will immediately move on to the Red Mountain Lithium Project, where a major program is planned to lay the foundations for our maiden Mineral Resource Estimate by the end of the year.” Tony Leibowitz, Astute Metals Chairman ASX announcement ⚡ https://lnkd.in/gF6iJHfz

Giant Mining is taking a strategic step forward in its Majuba Hill Copper-Silver-Gold Project by engaging RESPEC to integrate recent drilling data into an advanced 3D geological model. The collaboration aims to refine the project's geological understanding and unlock its full potential. The partnership will focus on incorporating drilling results from the 2024 and 2025 diamond core programs, with specific attention to drill holes MHB-30 through MHB-36. By enhancing the model's precision, Giant Mining seeks to improve its understanding of breccia body geometry and copper mineralization controls. President and CEO David Greenway emphasized the critical nature of this technical review, noting that it will provide a clear pathway for future exploration, metallurgical studies, and target evaluation. The updated model will help assess economic potential and highlight promising target zones, including the Northern Breccia, Ball Park Breccia, and 789 Resistivity Target. Located in Nevada, a top-ranked mining jurisdiction, the Majuba Hill project spans 9,684 acres with significant infrastructure advantages. The project's strategic importance is underscored by growing domestic demand for secure copper and silver supply chains. This methodical approach demonstrates Giant Mining's commitment to data-driven exploration and sustainable resource development.

Over the last 10–20 years, mine-to-mill has gained significant popularity in the mining industry. The improvements are undeniable: operations that integrate decisions from drilling through to the mill consistently perform better. Yet, despite these gains, mine-to-mill is still not the industry standard. Why does mining still operate in silos? The real problem is human. For a mine-to-mill program to succeed, you need a champion—someone who can bridge planning, drill and blast, hauling, milling, and beyond. This is already a tall order on top of normal duties. Even if that person succeeds in implementing better processes, what happens when they leave? The improvements collapse, and the silos re-emerge. The solution is not to rely solely on individuals, but to design resilient systems that operate independently of any single champion. These systems should rely on field data, continuously updated to reflect reality and get the best predictions, and tie each step of the value chain back to key KPIs—from Drill, Blast, Load, Transport (DBLT) to mill head grade and production rate. All production plans should be automatically linked to its forecasted downstream impact to enable integrated and automated decision-making. But forecasting without reconciliation is useless: predictions must be updated with observed field data to allow proper QA/QC and to quickly diagnose improvement opportunities with actionable steps. The major barrier is data integration. Without centralized, connected data sources, no revolutionary system can be built. When your data is siloed, so is your operation. The major productivity gains in the next 5 years will be driven by integration across the mining operation, paired with skilled operators keeping these systems in check. ’m curious — for those who’ve tried mine-to-mill integration: what’s been the biggest barrier at your site? Was it data, culture, or just the lack of bandwidth to champion it?

Lunnon Metals Ltd extends high-grade gold intercepts at the Hustler Prospect, reporting 20m @ 1.48g/t Au as a standout result. These fresh assays bolster the company's ongoing gold exploration in Kambalda, anchoring efforts to replicate their nearby Lady Herial success story. ⚙ Announcement Highlights: → Hustler infill drilling confirms multiple near-surface gold zones. → Strategic location just 400m from Lady Herial on granted mining leases. → Defiance West EIS hole completed at 867m, revealing key structural complexities. → Potential for self-funded exploration via modest open pits at Hustler and Lady Herial. Managing Director, Edmund Ainscough, explained: "Hustler is firming up nicely with each round of drilling. To be able to step into 20m x 20m spacing certainly helps resolve the geological and structural interpretation quickly." Lunnon aims to convert shallow intercepts into early production scenarios while advancing deeper, higher-reward targets across the Foster Gold Belt. Ongoing EIS co-funded drilling at Defiance West has uncovered favorable iron-sulphide sediment zones and unexpected faults, highlighting the region's untapped potential despite no material gold assay returns in the second hole. This dual-pronged exploration pushes Lunnon Metals toward a low-strip-ratio open pit development model at Hustler and Lady Herial, while maintaining a focus on bigger discoveries within Kambalda’s +16Moz gold camp. The ability to leverage existing infrastructure and mining leases strengthens their operational readiness for eventual processing and production.
